About Us

Dahlquist's Fine Jewelry was started in 1981 by Jay and Sandi Dahlquist. At that time we were located downtown where we installed the clock tower over what is now Liberty Bay Bakery. We moved our store to the Poulsbo Village Shopping Center in 1985 to accommodate our growing business. We built up our reputation in Poulsbo as the destination jewelry store for new and exciting pieces, as well as precision repairs and award winning custom designs. We also became know as the store with the Dogs. Jay and Sandi had 2 Dalmatians; Bernie and Dorothy, that worked in the store everyday greeting customers.

Richard Koven joined Dahlquist's Fine Jewelry as a co-owner in 2000. He started working at his Father's 3rd Generation jewelry store while still in high school. As a Graduate of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Richard has been working with all aspects of jewelry for over 20 years. After Jay, Sandi and their Dalmatians retired in 2004 Richard started bringing his dog, Sampson in to become the official greeter. Sam is so popular now that he even has his own Facebook page.

Garry Thompson has been the Jeweler here since 1999. He is a 4 time International Award Winning Custom Jewelry Designer. In college Garry was making large sculptures and soon began crafting  hand made jewelry. Garry has been making and repairing jewelry for over 40 years.

Heather MacVane and Grace VanDeMark have been sales associates with Dahlquist's since 2007. Heather has won awards for her windows displays and also heads up our marketing department. Grace has been essential in promotions and manages the repair department. Both are highly trained and have attended many seminars to keep improving their knowledge.

Dahlquist's Fine Jewelry has been helping to make Poulsbo beautiful since 1981. We are proud to have created many of Little Norway's finest family heirlooms. We heartily thank the community for all the support it has shown us all these years and are proud to do our part to enrich the community we share.
